Did I forget to mention....
In true annoying little sister style, Delilah ate a big chunk out of Logan's birthday cake while it was cooling after baking. It was kinda sweet, the way she actually used a tiny little spoon to gouge out the center. I craftily (is that a word?) packed the gaping hole using bits of cake that were carved away to form the shark's body. After it was frosted there was no way to know. I didn't even remember until I saw the photos I took. Oops!

At the breakfast table
"I'm gonna sit on your chair with my naked butt!"
"That's okay. I trust you."
"Do you want me to fart on your chair?"
"No thanks."
"I will, I'll fart on your chair..."
"No, that's okay."
"...I'm gassy!"

Shark Party
Logan's party was a success!
I finished the cake and piñata in time (just barely!) and they both met Logan's expectations, which is all that really mattered to me. Although without J.J.'s carefully crafted shark eyes, the piñata would have just looked like a big fat whale.
We had a perfect amount of guests that included school friends, neighborhood friends and family friends from babydom. I hope everyone was as happy to be there as we were having them there.
A big thanks to Mike for capturing everything on film, er, memory card. I was so wiped out by the time the party actually started that I couldn't get it together to pick up my camera.
Here are some of the highlights, click on the images for a larger view:

Emma, Logan and Ezekiel. Yay, more Transformers!

Getting blindfolded for the piñata bashing. It was so well constructed that each kid got to take a turn.

Ezekiel takes a swing.

Sammy's turn.

Logan smacks the heck out of it in the end.

Gutting the candy from the beast's belly, finally!

My masterpiece! The teeth and fins were made from white chocolate.

View from the front. Eat it before it eats you!

Happy Birthday Logan!!!

Ring...ring..."Hello?"
"Hey Logan, it's for you!"
"Who is it?"
"Someone calling to wish you a Happy Birthday."
"Papa?"
"No."
"Give me a hint."
"She's a little crazy."
"Sammy?"
"No. It's a grownup."
"Kerri?"
Thank you Crazy Aunt Kerri for the birthday wishes and rad gummy sharks!

Happy Birthday Logan!!!
I can hardly believe he's already 5! What the heck?!? The frenzy of
the kids' birthdays officially begins, NOW!
Big thanks to Aunt Kerri for sending the shark gummies. I KNEW they had to exist somewhere and I guess that somewhere is Maryland.

Birthdays!
It's birthday season around here. With the kids having been born on days just 2 weeks apart it feels a little frantic from an organizer's point of view. Luckily we started planning and shopping early so things are pretty much under control. And I'm trying not to go TOO crazy.
Logan has chosen a shark theme for his party and I am going to attempt to make the raddest cake. I almost went off the deep end (haha!) when I realized you can't get candy corn after Halloween. They would have made the best teeth! Then I found a link on how to make a food-grade silicone mold from some craft putty and I actually considered making molds from Logan's real shark tooth. J.J. was there to reel me back in (ha! I'm too funny!) and I think I have found a more simple solution. We shall see....
Here is an example of the cake that another fabulous baker made.

Worst... blogger... EVER!
That's me. I haven't posted in months! How shameful. I think I'll get
my butt in gear. Honest.
